Canadian Pacific Kansas City has announced the 2026 CPKC Holiday Train schedule, and over the years many Region residents have gotten up very early to see the train covered in holiday lights roll through northwest Indiana. CPKC says its Holiday Train, now in its 28th year, raises money and collects food across the company’s network in Canada and the U.S., supporting community food banks. There are no Region stops, but the train is set to travel through Lake, Porter, and La Porte counties during the predawn hours the morning of November 23, 2026, reaching La Porte between 2am and 4am Central, according to preliminary estimates in a post shared by Ogden Dunes Fire Department Facebook page; times are subject to change.
“Our railroaders take great pride in bringing the Holiday Train through hundreds of communities across our network to support people facing food insecurity,” said CPKC President and CEO Keith Creel in a news release. “This year, we are going farther south than we ever have before, visiting 10 communities in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Missouri for the first time. “Through the generosity of the thousands of families and fans who come out to see the Holiday Train and support local food banks, whether for the first time or as part of a long-running holiday tradition, we can spread the joy of the season and support the giving spirit of the holidays,” Creel added.
