In Illinois, Lansing Mayor Brian Hardy has issued a Proclamation of Disaster in response to the tornado that impacted the community last week. The proclamation recognizes the dedication of Village employees, first responders, utility crews, volunteers, partner agencies, businesses, local leaders, and residents who supported Lansing’s recovery. The National Weather Service says an EF1 tornado damaged homes and trees during severe storms July 27, 2026,, and two minor injuries were reported in Lansing as a result of the tornado.
