The Kankakee Valley REMC Junior Board of Directors invites the community to a Day of Community Giving on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Porter County Fairgrounds. The event will feature a car show and cornhole tournament benefiting the Play for Jake Foundation, which raises awareness about undetected heart conditions in youth. Community members are encouraged to attend, support local students, and enjoy a day of family-friendly fun. Admission is free for spectators.
Those interested in participating can register a vehicle in the car show for $15 in advance or enter the cornhole tournament for $20 per team in advance. The car show runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CT, and the cornhole tournament begins at 11 a.m. Participants in both the car show and cornhole tournament will have the chance to win great prizes. There is still time to register in advance and take advantage of discounted entry fees. Through the Junior Board program, students build leadership and teamwork skills while organizing meaningful service projects that give back to the community.
Registration and additional event information can be found on the KV REMC Day of Community Giving Registration page at kvremc.com .
