In Lake County, Region motorists are alerted to Interstate 65 lane and ramp closures between Merrillville and Crown Point, including a five-day closure of the ramp from westbound U.S. 30 to northbound I-65 for road repairs starting on or after Monday, September 14, 2026. There will also be lane closures on I-65 between 109th Avenue and U.S. 231 to remove the lane shifts at 113th Avenue. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says the 113th Avenue bridge over I-65 will continue to be closed through the end of October for a bridge deck and partial superstructure replacement project, and lane closures will occur on I-65 in this location as needed for construction work. “INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time when traveling through this area and follow traffic directions carefully. Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones,” INDOT said.
