HEARTSafe Porter County is seeking community participation in achieving HEARTSafe countywide designation. Businesses, organizations, families, and individuals can help strengthen emergency preparedness towards the goal of decreasing death and disability from sudden cardiac arrest. The initiative focuses on heart screenings and prevention, hands-only CPR training, expanded access to AEDs/automated external defibrillators, education, awareness, and emergency preparedness. “Through education, screenings, training, and increased access to life-saving equipment, supporters become part of a countywide effort to enhance emergency response and save lives,” a news release said.
Those who would like to donate to the HEARTSafe Porter County initiative, are asked to do so through the Porter County Community Foundation online at https://pccf.gives/heartsafe or by sending a check made out to PCCF, memo: HEARTSafe Porter County. Donations in any amount are welcome and can be made to honor a loved one, support corporate giving, or as a joint community safety effort. Sponsorship of a complete 24/7-accessible AED unit features custom signage with the donor’s name and logo to recognize their contribution.
